Wireframing and sketching
After this you can generate and compare several structural options for a screen quickly, on paper or in low fidelity, before committing to visuals.
Why it matters
Wireframing exists to make exploration cheap. The point is *volume and disposability* (eight rough options in an hour, not one neat one in a day) because the first idea is rarely the best and high fidelity makes you defensive about work you have sunk time into. Sketch on paper first; it is faster and nobody mistakes it for finished. Trap: 'wireframes' that are really grey mockups with real spacing decisions, which cost as much as the real thing and get critiqued on the wrong dimension.
How to use this resource
Goes from blank page to structure and explains the decisions along the way, which is the part that transfers.
