Giving and receiving critique
After this you can run a focused critique, give feedback tied to goals rather than preference, and receive hard feedback without defending.
Why it matters
Critique is the central ritual of design teams and a live test in most interview loops. Giving well means asking what stage the work is at, anchoring on the stated goal, and separating observation from prescription: 'the primary action is competing with three others' beats 'make the button blue'. Receiving well means asking clarifying questions, not explaining away, and going away with decisions rather than opinions. Trap: taking critique of the work as critique of you. Teams notice defensiveness faster than they notice weak visual craft, and forgive it less.
How to use this resource
Covers both directions and shows a real design review rather than describing one. The rules are specific enough to apply the same day.
