SageLords is a free learning platform. We do not sell anything, show ads of our own, or sell data. This page explains what we store and why, in plain language.
Learning without an account
You can watch every lesson without signing up. When you mark lessons complete or pause a video, that progress is saved in your own browser (local storage) so you can pick up where you left off. It stays on your device; we do not receive it unless you create an account. Clearing your browser data removes it.
If you leave feedback on a lesson without an account, your browser sends a random identifier so we can count one response per person. We store only a one-way hash of it, never your IP address.
If you create an account
- Your name, email address, and a password stored as a one-way hash.
- Your username and anything you add to your profile or space.
- Your progress: which lessons you completed and where you paused each video, so it follows you between devices.
- Suggestions and feedback you send, and tracks you create or fork.
When you sign in, progress saved in your browser is moved into your account and removed from the browser. Signing out clears it from that browser, so the next person on a shared computer does not see it.
Spaces and mentors
If you choose Join on a mentor's or organization's space, its owners and mentors can see your progress on that space's tracks. Nobody sees your progress unless you join. You can leave at any time from My learning, and they stop seeing it immediately.
YouTube
SageLords uses YouTube API Services. Lessons play videos through YouTube's embedded player in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), video thumbnails on our pages load directly from YouTube's servers, and we use YouTube's services to check that each video is still available and suitable before we list it. The videos are hosted by YouTube and remain the work of their creators.
We never ask for access to your YouTube or Google account, and nothing we get from YouTube is about you. When your browser loads a thumbnail or plays a video, YouTube receives that request, may store or read cookies and similar data on your device, and may show ads in the player. Google handles that data under the Google Privacy Policy, not us. SageLords does not change the player or choose the ads YouTube shows.
We send email only for your account: confirming your address, resetting your password, and invitations to spaces. Emails are delivered by Resend on our behalf.
Usage statistics
We may measure how the site is used (for example, how many people start a lesson) with privacy-friendly analytics that set no cookies and build no personal profiles.
Keeping and deleting data
You can change your profile or delete your account from the Account page. Deleting your account removes your progress, your personal space and its tracks. Tracks in organization spaces you co-own are handed to another owner so their learners are not affected.
