AI in the design workflow, honestly
After this you can use AI tools where they genuinely help and articulate where they do not, a question you will be asked in 2026 interviews.
Why it matters
AI fluency now appears in design job descriptions, and both extremes are wrong. It is genuinely useful for research synthesis first passes, generating copy variants, filling prototypes with realistic content, and rough exploration. It is unreliable for judgement: deciding what to build, weighing trade-offs, and knowing when research contradicts the plan. Form a real opinion, because 'how do you use AI in your process' is now a standard interview question and both an uncritical yes and a reflexive no read badly. Trap: AI-generated case studies. Reviewers spot the register instantly and it reads as having nothing of your own to say.
How to use this resource
The 'don't use' half is why this is the primary: it is the rare piece that draws a boundary rather than selling the tools.
