The first 90 days
After this you have a plan for onboarding that builds trust before it proposes changes.
Why it matters
New designers commonly damage their standing by proposing a redesign in week two. Invert it: spend the early weeks learning the product, the constraints, the history of why things are as they are, and who decides what. Ship something small and useful early to establish competence, find out how the design system and handoff actually work on this team, and build relationships with engineers before you need favours. Trap: mistaking the existing design's flaws for evidence nobody thought about them. There is almost always a reason, and asking about it is how you learn the domain.
