Reading real job posts as a requirements list
After this you can turn live job adverts into a personal checklist of the skills and artifacts you actually need.
Why it matters
Do this rather than trusting any curriculum, including this one. Pull ten current junior/mid product design listings you would plausibly apply to and tally what they ask for: which tools, which research methods, whether they mention design systems, accessibility, metrics, or working with engineers. You will find the same eight or nine things repeat, and that they map closely onto the phases below. Keep the tally; you will use it again when you choose your portfolio project and when you write your CV. Trap: ignore the 'nice to have' pile-ons; weight by frequency across the ten.
How to use this resource
Design-only listings, so the sample is not diluted by adjacent roles. Read the postings, do not apply yet: you have nothing to show.
