Why it matters
The roadmap ends where the search begins. Send ten real applications with a tailored opening line each, and start three genuine conversations: a former colleague, someone whose work you follow, a designer at a company on your list. Then set a weekly rhythm and keep improving the portfolio while you search; the case study you have is not final, and the feedback from rejections is data. Expect this to take months rather than weeks in the current market, and judge yourself on process rather than outcome.
