Handoff and working with engineers
After this you can prepare a design an engineer can build without a meeting, and hold a useful conversation about feasibility and trade-offs.
Why it matters
Handoff is not throwing a file over a wall; on good teams the engineer has been in the conversation for weeks. What you owe them: annotated states and edge cases, responsive behaviour, tokens rather than hex codes, real content, and a named owner for the ambiguous bits. Learn Dev Mode, and learn enough HTML and CSS to know why some requests are cheap and others are expensive. This single thing improves your standing with engineers more than anything else. Trap: designing something with no defined behaviour on failure, then being surprised what gets built.
How to use this resource
Covers the collaboration, not just the tooling: what to annotate, what to specify, when to talk instead of documenting.
