Project: multiply other designers' impact
After this you have evidence, confirmed by other people, that the design work around you got better because of you.
Why it matters
Brief: over at least one quarter, deliver all three. (1) Influence: identify one piece of design-originated work that is not on the roadmap, build the case (evidence, strategic fit, cost), and get it prioritised, or get a planned item changed. Keep the before and after plan and your written argument. (2) Mentoring: mentor at least one designer for eight weeks or more, with goals they set, a regular cadence, and a closing conversation where they write down what changed. (3) Operations: pick the team ritual or process that costs the most for the least value, measure it, change it, and measure again after a month. Constraints: the mentee's and colleagues' accounts must be their own words; the ops change must outlast your direct involvement. It is good when each of the three would be recognised by the people affected as your doing.
How to use this resource
