Telling UX, UI, product and graphic design apart
After this you can read a job title and predict roughly what the job involves, and explain which of these roles you are aiming at.
Why it matters
These titles are used inconsistently across the industry, which makes job hunting confusing. Roughly: UX leans research and flows, UI leans interface craft and systems, product design expects both plus business context, and graphic design is a different discipline that shares vocabulary. What matters practically is that most listings called 'UX Designer', 'UI/UX Designer' and 'Product Designer' want the same hybrid skill set. This roadmap targets that hybrid. Trap: don't specialise into research-only or visual-only before your first job; the hybrid is far more hireable at junior level.
