Targeting the right roles, levels and adjacent titles
After this you can identify which job titles and levels match your skills, read a job advert for its real requirements, and build a target list.
Why it matters
'Data analyst' is only one of the titles that does the work. Look at business intelligence analyst, reporting analyst, operations analyst, product analyst, marketing analyst and junior analytics engineer. Read adverts for the tasks, not the title, and apply when you meet about 60 percent of the requirements. Consider internal moves: being the data person on your current team is often the shortest route.
