SQL basics: selecting, filtering and sorting
After this you can write SELECT queries with WHERE, ORDER BY, LIMIT, DISTINCT and simple calculated columns against a real database.
Why it matters
This is where you start writing SQL every day. Follow one complete course rather than hopping between short clips, and type every query yourself. Pay attention to the logical order a query is evaluated in (FROM, WHERE, GROUP BY, HAVING, SELECT, ORDER BY), because it explains why you cannot use a column alias in WHERE. The trap is passive watching: you learn SQL by writing hundreds of small queries, not by watching them.
How to use this resource
A four-hour SQL course built for analysts, using PostgreSQL and a job-postings dataset. For this topic watch the opening sections up to aggregation; the later sections serve the next topics.
