Milestone: write your decision
After this you have a written go or no-go decision about pursuing data analysis, with your reasons.
Why it matters
Write half a page answering: what parts of the work did you find appealing, which parts worried you, how many hours a week you can realistically commit, and whether you could start doing analysis inside your current job. If the answer is no, that is a successful use of five hours. If yes, keep the note; you will reread it when the SQL gets hard.
