Answer first: the pyramid principle and BLUF
After this you can structure any message with the conclusion first, supported by grouped arguments, and rewrite a chronological update into an answer-first one.
Why it matters
Executives read the first paragraph and decide whether to continue. The pyramid principle (from McKinsey) and BLUF (bottom line up front, from military writing) say the same thing: lead with the answer, then the two to four reasons, then the evidence. The trap is building suspense or showing your work first; your reader wants the conclusion and only then the support.
