Choosing a question worth answering
After this you can pick a portfolio question with a clear business owner, available data and a decision attached, and reject the ones that will not impress.
Why it matters
The question matters more than the technique. Good questions have someone who would pay for the answer: 'Which neighbourhoods are under-served by bike-share docks?', 'Do late deliveries drive one-star reviews?'. Bad ones are generic ('analysing Netflix data') or pre-solved by thousands of others. Pick something connected to an industry you want to work in; it doubles as a conversation starter in interviews.
