Evaluating and negotiating an offer

Why it matters
Most first offers have room to move, and asking politely almost never costs the offer. Research the range on Levels.fyi and similar sources for your city and title, express enthusiasm, then ask. Consider the whole package: learning opportunities, the quality of the data team you will join, and whether there is a senior analyst to learn from, which matters more than a small salary difference in your first role.
