Giving honest, useful feedback
After this you can give specific, timely feedback that is both caring and direct, and ask for feedback in a way that gets honest answers.
Why it matters
Most people avoid hard feedback until it is too late to be useful. Kim Scott's Radical Candor framework, caring personally while challenging directly, is the most practical model available for free. Give feedback about specific behaviour and its impact, soon after it happens, and in private if it is critical. Ask for feedback on yourself first; it makes giving it easier.
