Practising system design end to end
After this you can work through a system design problem in forty-five minutes: requirements, estimates, high-level design, deep dive and trade-offs.
Why it matters
Put the phase together by practising full designs out loud: a URL shortener, a news feed, a chat system, a rate limiter. Use the interview format even if you are not interviewing; it is a good discipline for real design discussions. For each, write down requirements, estimates, a diagram, the deepest risk, and two alternatives you rejected. Trap: memorising canonical answers. Interviewers and colleagues change one requirement and the memorised answer falls apart.
