Project: build and ship your portfolio application
After this you can show a deployed application of your own design, built to professional standard.
Why it matters
Build what your spec describes, using every practice from the previous phase from day one: pull requests (even reviewing your own after a night's sleep), CI, tests, migrations, structured logging, environment configuration and proper authorization. Minimum bar: authentication with per-user data, at least one non-trivial feature beyond create-read-update-delete (search, a scheduled job, a third-party API integration, real-time updates, file uploads), CI on every pull request, and deployment on every merge to main. If you are stuck on a design decision for more than a day, write an ADR for it. Writing the options down usually makes the choice obvious.
How to use this resource
Use it as a checklist for how your app should be configured and deployed.
