Presenting technical ideas to a mixed audience
After this you can present a proposal in ten minutes so that both engineers and non-engineers understand the problem, the recommendation and the cost.
Why it matters
Many important decisions are made in a meeting, not in document comments. You need to present a proposal clearly: the problem in one sentence, why it matters now, what you recommend, what it costs, and what you need from the room. Winston's lecture is about academic talks, but the principles (start with an empowerment promise, repeat the key idea, end with contributions, not 'thank you') apply directly. Trap: walking through your slides in the order you did the work. Lead with the conclusion.
